Beginner’s Guide to Fall Fashion Prints and Fabrics

Beginner's Fall Fashion

It’s finally feeling like fall!

You know what that means… bring in the mugs, boots and cardigans! #basicbitch Fall is many fashionistas season because of the use of layering and experimenting with different textures. Need help? Lipstick and Tech has you covered!

The first tip is that it’s important to note of your climate (to avoid sweating in warmer weather or actually being cold!) and wearing items that fit you properly (just because it’s sweater whether doesn’t mean you have to wear anything baggy, and tight doesn’t do you any favors). Please use this guide as the best way to search fall looks– foolproof for when you’re unsure of what to look for!

Best fabrics to wear in the fall include the following:

  • Velvet
  • Knits
  • Lace
  • Leather
  • Silk
  • Tweed

Best patterns to look up and mix/match with a solid color

(Not layering all at once, of course!)Fall Fashion Pattern

  • Catstooth
  • Fair Isle
  • Plaid
  • Argyle
  • Herringbone
  • Houndstooth
  • Tartan
  • Cheetah
  • leopard print

And now that you know your patterns, all that is due is balance your layers. Most recommend  that in colder areas, reserve your layers to a maximum of 3 layers, but with the right layering, all can be put together with the right palette!
